The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the operational leadership, performance, and strategic oversight of telecom construction projects across an assigned geographic region. This role requires a combination of people management, construction expertise, and business acumen to ensure regional goals are met in alignment with company standards. The Regional Manager serves as a key leader for project execution, team development, safety compliance, and client satisfaction across multiple crews and job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction operations across multiple job sites within the assigned region.
- Oversee and support Construction Managers, Field Supervisors, and project teams in delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to set regional goals, monitor performance, and develop improvement plans.
- Review and approve project plans, resource allocation, and scheduling for regional projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company standards across all regional operations.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project performance, enforce quality standards, and resolve issues.
- Drive adherence to company policies, best practices, and operational processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, municipalities, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution and ongoing partnerships.
- Identify risks, delays, and staffing challenges within the region and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Coordinate training, mentorship, and professional development of field and management staff within the region.
- Manage regional budgets, forecast labor and equipment needs, and approve expenditures in accordance with company policy.
- Support subcontractor onboarding, compliance, and performance tracking in partnership with administrative teams.
- Represent the company in regional meetings, permitting agencies, and client-facing discussions as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecom or utility construction, with 3+ years in a multi-site or regional leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of aerial and underground telecom infrastructure construction practices.
- Proven ability to lead large teams, develop operational strategies, and manage performance across diverse workgroups.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction plans, permits, and engineering documents.
- Deep understanding of safety regulations and best practices, with a proven track record of enforcement.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Experience working with clients, vendors, and permitting agencies in a leadership capacity.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to balance field operations with administrative responsibilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Procore, or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region.
