Construction Manager

The construction manager is responsible for building client relationships, managing construction sites, and optimizing project performance. Primary responsibilities include planning, scheduling day-to-day site management, and overall execution with a focus on safety, quality, and cost. This role requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and organizational skills to ensure the successful execution of telecom construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for telecom construction projects.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget and quality standards.
  • Oversee and manage construction teams, including foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company-specific safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and address potential hazards proactively.
  • Allocate and manage resources, including materials, equipment, and labor, to meet project demands.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained and available as needed.
  • Oversee construction sites to ensure work is performed to specifications and standards.
  • Address on-site challenges, resolve issues, and adapt plans as necessary to maintain workflow.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, address client concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Obtain necessary permits and ensure adherence to zoning and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Prepare and submit reports to senior management or clients as required.
  • Identify and address project risks, delays, and challenges proactively.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions and maintain progress.
  • Provide ongoing training for team members to improve skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Promote professional growth and development within the construction team.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in telecom construction, with 2–3 years in a management role.
  • Knowledge of aerial and underground telecom infrastructure installation and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Familiarity with telecom construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including OSHA and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor teams.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and foster collaboration among team members.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Proven ability to conduct safety training and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
  • Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and develop effective solutions.
